The 'Queues likely' supplementary plate is to be used alongside diagram 584 which depicts traffic building up. These are often found as a permanent sign where traffic is likely to build up, however where temporary road works are taking place traffic queues are more likely to occur. This sign should be placed so that it can be seen by approaching vehicles giving them sufficient time to slow down for a potential queue ahead.
