Melba Wheelchair Kerb Ramp
When working on footpaths and having to divert pedestrians and wheelchair users onto roads, it’s vital to provide safe access on and off kerbed footpaths for wheelchair users and individuals with limited mobility. Part of our range of pedestrian and wheelchair ramps, the Melba Wheelchair Ramp, an updated version of the Kerb Buddy, features some new clever features to improve on the old design.
The kerb ramp’s high sides protect wheelchair users from falling off, along with rubberised areas around the edges to prevent unwanted movement. With an impressive width of 985mm, the ramp has a shallower angle compared to competing products on the market, meaning wheelchair and pram users won’t have to struggle to get up the ramp. In addition to these features, the surface of the ramp has an anti-slip pattern, helping to avoid slippiness on rainy days, further reducing the risk of potential injuries and ensuring confidence in every step.
The Melba Wheelchair ramp is also easily stacked, so it can be moved from site to site or stored easily. It can be bolted to the ground with four bolts, such as our Universal concrete and tarmac fixing. All materials used to manufacture the ramp are widely recycled, making it an environmentally friendly choice that won’t become a burden at the end of its lifecycle.
